The Wild Orchid # 1

Conveniently located, three bedroom cottage just a minute walk from the activity of the town of Tobermory. Big Tub Harbour is just a short walk from the cottage, where a public access known locally as "The GAP" is a great place for experienced swimmers to enjoy the water, or to take in a sunset.

The main living area of the cottage is a comfortable place to relax after a busy day of hiking the trails, or enjoying a boat tour. Two couches and two chairs provide seating for everyone in the group to unwind and enjoy the television and DVD/Blu-ray player or free Wi-Fi. Several large windows and a darling side deck help create a bright space.

The eat-in kitchen at the cottage has all the amenities necessary including fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen table here seats 10 comfortably. There are also two stools at the breakfast bar and four wooden TV trays provided. This is also the perfect place for a game of cards, or a puzzle with the family.

There are three bedrooms at the cottage. Bedroom one has a large queen size bed and a master Ensuite. Bedroom two has two double beds and a third bedroom just down the hall boasted two sets of single bunk beds that can accommodate 4 more people. The main family room also has two pull-out couches that provide an additional two double beds.

There is one 4 piece bathroom on the main floor of the cottage with a shower/tub, toilet and sink. There is an additional two piece bathroom off of the master bedroom with a toilet and sink.

There is a large laundry room at the cottage with a washer and dryer for your personal use. You will however, need to provide your own soap and softener. This is also a great place to store your scuba equipment or hiking gear. NOTE** The Orchid 1 can be opened up and joined with the Orchid 2 providing space for larger groups up to 28 people!

Outside of the cottage there is a large front yard and a wooden side deck for you to relax. This cottage allows you to enjoy the proximity to the Tobermory Harbour while leaving your car parked in the driveway, instead of fighting to find somewhere to park downtown.

In the scenic Village of Tobermory you can stroll through the shops, visit the library, experience the restaurants and take in the beautiful natural harbour. You can also book a boat cruise where you view shipwrecks, and visit Flowerpot Island. Sunset dinner cruises to Manitoulin Island aboard the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry are also very popular and last about 2 hours.

For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the Bruce Peninsula is a virtual playground! Guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Bruce Peninsula National Park also offers many programs through their Visitor’s Centre and Cyprus Lake Campground.
