Professor's Hideaway

This historical, three bedroom cottage, is only steps away from the action in Tobermory harbour.

With Big Tub Harbour just a short walk down the road, and a public access known locally as "the GAP" this cottage will keep you coming back year after year!

The main living area of the cottage is a comfortable place to relax after a busy day of hiking the trails, swimming at the Grotto, or enjoying a boat tour.

The eat-in kitchen at the cottage has all the amenities necessary including fridge, stove and microwave. The kitchen table here seats 6 comfortably. For additional table space, there are four wooden TV trays provided and an outdoor patio table that seats 6. This is also the perfect place to relax for a game of cards, or enjoying the sun set on the harbour.

There are three bedrooms at the cottage. Bedroom one has two double beds; bedroom two has a set of single beds as bunk beds. and the third bedroom is located on the main floor, with a queen sized bed. The main family room also has two pull-out couches that provide an additional two double beds.

There is one 3 piece bathroom on the main floor of the cottage with a shower, toilet and sink. There is an additional two piece bathroom on the upper level with a toilet and sink.

There is a mudroom at the back of the cottage with a washer and dryer for your personal use. You will however, need to provide your own soap and softener. The mudroom is a great place to store your scuba equipment or hiking gear. However we ask that you please do not touch any equipment in the mudroom pertaining to the well, water or electrical systems.

Outside of the cottage there is a large front yard and a forested back lot (approx. 66’ x 200’). The Tobermory Visitors center is just a short walk away from the back of the cottage lot. There is also over 400 square feet of deck for you to relax, look out over the harbour or people watch.

This cottage allows you to enjoy the proximity to the Tobermory Harbour and leave your car parked in the driveway instead of fighting to find somewhere to park downtown.

In the scenic Village of Tobermory you can stroll through the shops, visit the library, experience the restaurants and take in the beautiful natural harbour. You can also take a boat cruise where you view shipwrecks, and also visit lighthouses on Flowerpot Island. Sunset dinner cruises to Manitoulin Island aboard the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry are also very popular and last about 2 hours.

For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the Bruce Peninsula is a virtual playground! A 10 minute drive away, guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Bruce Peninsula National Park also offers many programs through their Visitor’s Centre and Cyprus Lake Campground.
